Federation Insurance was purchased by The Economical Insurance Group.

2001

Hartford Insurance Company of Canada was purchased by Economical. The company's name was changed to Langdon Insurance.

2004

Langdon Insurance amalgamated with Economical Mutual Insurance Company, simplifying operations for policyholders and broker partners.

2006

The Mattei Companies of Seattle, Washington joined The Economical Insurance Group, becoming the first subsidiary outside Canada.
